Adding Large Numbers
When you have to add large numbers, you can try making the numbers a multiple of 10. For example, if you have to add 25 and 36, you can try adding 30 with 40. The result becomes 70. Now, subtract the numbers you have added. 30-25 is 5 and 40-36 is 4. The sum of 5 and 4 is 9. You need to subtract it from the previous result. So, the result will be 70-9=61.
Subtracting from 1000
When you have to subtract a digit from 1000, the best trick is to subtract the last number from 10 and the previous numbers from 9. For example, if you have to subtract 387 from 1000, here is what you have to do. 9-3=6, 9-8=1, 10-7=3. So, the result is 613.
